Pickled onions

  • 4 onions (double if using shallots)

  • 1 dl vinegar spirit 12%

  • 2 dl sugar

  • 3 dl water

  • 2 krm salt

  • 1 pinch of white pepper


  1. Peel and halve the onions, then cut them into strips

  2. Bring vinegar, sugar, water, salt, and pepper to a boil

  3. Add the onions and let the layers and onions cool

  4. When the law and the onions have cooled, put them in a sterilized glass jar

  5. Pour over so it covers the onions

  6. Does not cover the layer, mix into more layer and pour over 1 part vinegar, 2 parts water, and 3 parts sugar

  7. Store cool and dark or in the fridge after opening the jar. Then it lasts for several weeks if the jar is cleaned well

Pickled and done!
